Belize Heritage Plaza

Overview

• Foundation stone placed on 9th September, 1920
• Formerly known as the Belize Stores
• Constructed by the Jefferson Construction Co.
• Named after a 19th century Bayman who featured prominently in the Battle of St. Georges Caye
  Destroyed by Fire in 2002
• Replaced in 2020 by the a new structure now referred to as the Belize Heritage Plaza built in 2020
• The new building will house the Downtown Eco Museum Welcome Centre
