The Anglican Cathedral College Urban Garden
Overview
This Urban Garden was completed on the 8th. November 2018, with the collaboration os the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation through the Belize City House fo Culture and Downtown Rejuvenation Project, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Forestry, the Environment, Sustainable Development, and Emigration, and Anglican Cathedral Colege. The Urban Garden is a community capacity building initiative geared towards downtown Belize City. Through this initiative, both residents and students were trained to cultivate and maintain the organic produce of the urban garden. The aim of the urban garden is to improve community relationships and raise awareness of agricultural and farming practices while promoting a healthy and sustainable way of life.

Urban Garden Facts
– The project commenced in August of 2018
– Project completed on 8th November 2018
– The caretakers of the garden are ACC Garden Club students who were trained on-the-job on October 10th, 2018”.
– Completed at a cost of $19,000.00
– The Ministry of Agriculture constructed the infrastructure
– 30 students and 6 community members participated in an all-day horticulture training workshop
