Dr. Karl Heusner House
Overview
Originally built in the early to mid-1800s, this building has historic significance because of the colonial architecture. The property was the family home and medical clinic of Karl Stanislaus Heusner for 63 years in the 20th century. Dr. Heusner died on December 1st, 1960 at age 88. He was revered as the ‘people’s doctor’ and today, Belize City’s only public hospital is named after him.
