Overview
- Previous building was constructed of wood in early 1900’s
- Original structure was meant to be a club; however, was utilized as a residential dwelling between 1930’s and 60’s
- Acquired by Prime Minister George Price to create a Cottage Industry for women in the 60’s
- The Women’s Department initiated their Supporting Single Mother’s Project in 2011
- Work with women continued under the Ministry of Human Development, Social Transformation and Poverty Alleviation between 2012 and 2015.
- The property was acquired by the Downtown Rejuvenation Project in 2016
- A new concrete structure was built in 2020 and now houses the Women and Family Support Department
